Electrician in Los Angeles, CA

Our home base — panel upgrades, EV chargers, new construction, and repair for homes and businesses across the city.

Working in Los Angeles

JE Electric is based on S Mariposa Ave in the Koreatown/Mid-City corridor — a part of LA built out mostly in the 1920s-1930s with dense courtyard apartments, dingbat buildings, and Spanish Revival and Craftsman homes. A lot of that housing stock still runs on original 60-100 amp panels and knob-and-tube or early cloth-wrapped wiring that was never sized for central AC, modern kitchens, or an EV charger — which is exactly the kind of work we do most often.

Being centered in Mid-City also means we're a short drive from most of the city — Hollywood to the north, Downtown and the Eastside, and the Westside — so scheduling across LA neighborhoods is usually a same-week, often same-day, conversation.

Local Considerations

Two things shape most Los Angeles electrical jobs: age of the building and permit process. LADBS requires permits and inspection for panel upgrades and new circuits citywide, and older multi-unit buildings sometimes need landlord sign-off before work starts on shared panels. Parking and access in denser neighborhoods can also affect how a job gets scheduled — something we plan for when we quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where in Los Angeles is JE Electric based?

Our base is on S Mariposa Ave in the Koreatown/Mid-City area, which puts us within a short drive of most of central and westside LA for same-day and next-day scheduling.

Do you work in dense apartment buildings and dingbats, not just single-family homes?

Yes — a large share of our Los Angeles work is in the courtyard apartments, dingbats, and multi-unit buildings that make up so much of the city's housing, in addition to single-family homes.

Do you pull LADBS permits for work in the city?

Yes, for panel upgrades, new circuits, and new construction work, we pull the required City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety permit and coordinate inspection.

How fast can you get to a Los Angeles job?

It depends on the day and your specific neighborhood, but being based centrally in Mid-City means most of the city is a reasonably short drive. Call and we'll give you a straight answer.
